Life story
December 19, 2013

Aye, where do I begin? Which part of the story deserves to be told when all the story was exciting but only too brief? How can you tell the story of Jacob (aka JB)? Do I start from the end, the middle or the early beginning? These pages therefore can never tell the whole story. They simply are imperfect recollections we have of a wonderful man who was a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle, a companion and an ineffable friend.

On early Thursday December 19th, 2013 I received the news that Jacob had died. Although I knew that he was in the ICU and that his condition had deteriorated, I never anticipated this result. JB could not die. He was going to bounce back despite the doctors' prognosis. A man who loved life and played soccer with such remarkable skill and talent knew how to stage a come back. So I was awaiting news of his come back only to get a phone call stating that there was a come back but just not the one I expected. God had asked Jacob to come back home.

Jacob had suffered from a stroke that kept him in and out of the hospital within the last couple of weeks. He was discharged from the hospital and sent to a rehabilitation facility but on December 13 his condition worsened and he had to be rushed to the hospital again for readmission.

Jacob was the last child of late Mami Sarah Ntoh-ji Ndah and Marcus Ndah. He was born in Buea and attended primary school in Catholic Primary School, Sasse before proceeding to vocational training at his elder brother's automobile repair shop. After graduation, Jacob worked for some few years before he traveled to Cape Town, South Africa to meet with his immediate big brother Musi Ndah.

In 2007, Jacob married his best ally and friend Vuyo in a beautiful ceremony in Johannesburg. Jacob and Vuyo visited Cameroon many times including in 2011 when they both traveled to Cameroon to lay Mami Sarah Ndah to rest. No one expected that two years later, Jacob will be reuniting with his mom.

Jacob leaves behind a wife,  two sisters and two brothers, many nieces and nephews and countless friends to mourn for him.
